Danny Diablo a.k.a Lord Ezec is quite possibly the hardest working man in hardcore & hip hop. The last few years he has dropped work under his own moniker Danny Diablo as well with his many projects / bands. To name a few: Skarhead, KAOS 13, The Shotblockers, Crown Of Thornz.

On top of that he’s also running ILL ROC Records, who have in no-time acquired a strong line up of artists including Skam Dust, Lord’ Willin, Panic, Riviera Regime, White Owl and many more.

I suppose you could say that “The Blood Of Eden” is Danny Diablo‘s official second full length cd, following 2009’s “International Hardcore Superstar” (HellCat Records). Inbetween there have been a lot of great mixtapes, street-cd type releases, but now finally it’s time for the official second round!

After a short and to the point intro the cd’s kicks off with “Diablo Made Me Do It”, produced by DJ Lethal (House Of Pain, La Coka Nostra). An uptempo beat with a dope guitar sample in it. Danny Diablo sets the tone by spitting “I birthed a whole style – Thugcore Originator – love it or leave it – respect it or beat it!”. Jaysaun of Special Teamz & Madchild of Swollen Members drop a great guest verses, and overall the cd is off to a strong start.

“Stomp You Out” featuring Chino Brown has a more west coast orientated beat by Stress The Whiteboy. “The Art Of War” lives up to its name because the beat by up-and coming producer Dimakio sound a like army-troops marching to the battle front, so to speak. Adlib, Diesel and especially Panic The Manical destroy the track with their guest verses. Definitely a highlight on the record. We continue on with more great tracks like “Bodies Piled High” featuring the ever energetic Skam Dust, it’s more a uptempo song & I believe this will be the next video from “The Blood Of Eden”.

“Ice Giants” featuring Jaysaun, Diesel & Lord Willin, “End Of Silence” featuring Diesel & Adlib, “Black Monday” feat Prince Metropolitan, Diesel, Lord Willin & “Globetrotting” featuring Diesel & Planetary of AOTP, are all hardcore hip hop bangers and are all about letting the world know who’s running this shit.

The cd ends with the excellent remake of Schooly D’s “Saturday Night Out“.A funny, storytelling type of song that suits Danny Diablo very well & the beat is highly energetic and contagious. The song lasts five minutes but never gets boring.

All in all “The Blood Of Eden” is a very strong and solid offering, however I do miss some of the more high profile featurings “International Hardcore Superstar” had (such as Sick Jacken of Psycho Realm, Vinnie Paz of Jedi Mind Tricks, Everlast & Tim Armstrong). Furthermore “The Blood Of Eden” seems to be more straight forward hardcore hip hop where “International Hardcore Superstar” seemed to have a bit more diversity, with some guitar orientated tracks, and the collabo with White Lion. I don’t know if this was done intentionally or just an coincidence.

But these are just minor gripes with an otherwise really dope record!

The cd has a cool fold out booklet featuring some live shots, a short message from Danny to friends & family and all producers / beat makers get their proper credits.

If you have followed Danny Diablo and / or his projects the last few years you know he doesn’t play around & you know what to expect. “The Blood Of Eden” is highly recommended for anyone with a love for no-nonsense hardcore hip hop.
